Former One Direction star Liam Payne has tragically passed away at the age of 31.
Fans have gathered to pay their respects following his death, which occurred after a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina. While details remain unconfirmed, a spokesperson for the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires, Pablo Policicchio, reported that Payne allegedly “threw himself from the balcony of his room.”
Emergency services were called to the hotel following reports of “an aggressive man, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Payne had posted to his Snapchat story just an hour before his death, although it’s unclear whether the posts were scheduled.
Among those mourning Payne’s loss are celebrities and fellow musicians. Paris Hilton shared her condolences on X (formerly Twitter): “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP my friend.”
Jedward also expressed their grief, saying: “Sending strength to Cheryl, his son Bear, and all the One Direction family. RIP @LiamPayne.”
Musician Charlie Puth posted on Instagram: “I am in shock right now. Liam was always so kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can’t believe he is gone.”
